About
The business in short: the Revere properties we work on, how a job gets scoped and priced in writing, and the kinds of work we say no to.
What the business does
Brinwick finds water leaks in houses and small residential buildings. Finding is the whole job: we trace the source, mark it and write it up, and the repair is quoted separately by the plumber you pick.
All the prices shown here are estimates, marked that way. Yours starts as a free quote on the phone and becomes a written quote before anyone visits.
Plenty of calls never get past the meter. When a caller's own checks show a still dial, or the bill turns out to be a misread, we say so and the call ends there.
- Finding only, with repairs quoted separately
- No price named until we hear the symptoms
- No walls opened to look
- A straight no when nothing needs finding

How it runs
Four steps, no surprises
Free quote on the phone; the visit priced in a written quote first.
Call and describe what you see
Tell us where the water appears, on which floor or in which unit, since when, and how the meter behaves with every faucet off. A source or two is usually crossed off before we set out.
Get the figure in writing
Your estimate becomes a written quote for the visit, after-hours charge included if there is one. You approve it before anything happens.
We isolate, then listen
Hot against cold, one unit against the next, the house against the buried service. Then the tool the isolation points to: pressure, acoustic, thermal, moisture or tracer gas.
You keep the finding
A written report: the marked location, the readings that led there, the pipe material and the likely repair, ready to hand to whichever licensed plumber you hire.
Before you choose
Five questions for anyone you call, including us
Ask them of every company you phone. The answers show whether a finding rests on evidence.
What is the estimated range, and what moves it?
Ask for both. An ordinary house is an estimated $150 to $400; anyone quoting well beyond that should be able to explain why.
Did they ask what the meter did?
Whether it turns with everything shut is the first fact in this trade, and in Revere the meter is indoors, so asking takes a minute.
Is the repair quoted apart from the finding?
Ask for two prices. Folding both into one number makes it hard to see what the search itself is costing you.
Will you tell me if there is nothing to find?
The meter often answers that before anybody comes out, and a company that admits it on the phone is talking itself out of a job.
Can I check your license?
Massachusetts licenses plumbers through a state board, and the Division of Occupational Licensure's license lookup is public.
